Review Armor All 2.5 Gallon 2HP Wet Dry Vacuum
Today’s product review will include the compact Armor All 2.5 Gallon 2 Peak HP Wet Dry Vacuum. Our guide will look at performance the features of this compact shop vac and the durability. This will be done in a commercial work environment by our in-house tech.
Price and included attachments
We purchased the standard model from Walmart for $39.99 which was a lowest and most reasonable price for this product. The purchase price included attachments to help with cleaning. Included are a crevice tool for hard to reach areas, elastic filter, utility nozzle for large debris and a brush attachment for dusting and cleaning vents.
The standard model does not include floor vacuuming tube extensions.
Out of the box
Out of the box setup was very simple and straight forward taking only a couple of minutes. Following the clear instructions we installed the elastic filter in seconds, snapped a few other parts together, took note of the accessories and was ready to vacuum in less then 5 minutes.
Right off the bat you will notice that this compact unit has a built-in hose caddy. The hose is rapped around the top portion of the shop vac and snaps securely into 2 spots no need to disconnect the hose for storage. All attachments fit securely onto the top of the vacuum housing for quick access. The hose without attachments is approximately 5 feet long.
The power cord is approximately 10 feet long that gave us about 15 feet of operational length from an electrical outlet. Use of an extension cord will increase this length.
Operation performance review
We used the Armor All 2.5 Gallon 2 Peak HP Wet Dry Vacuum in a commercial cleaning setting even though it is rated for residential use just to test durability and performance under maximum use.
The 2 HP motor which is standard on this size shop vac was midrange on noise. Level was not too loud and ranked right up there with other similar sized more expensive shop vacs we have used.
The suction was more then adequate to pull up dust, dirt, flooring debris and old caulking from a renovated bathtub. We monitored the suction throughout the day and was impressed with the performance.
We also tested the shop vac by cleaning the lint from under and inside of an electric clothes dryer. This vacuum had no problems accessing tight areas and the filter did not clog.
Note that the vacuum was half full with debris with no sign of suction loss even with a dirty filter. At this point we cleaned the filter and emptied the vacuum to review the wet functions of this wet dry vac.
Wet vac operation
As a wet vacuum the Armor All 2.5 Gallon 2 Peak HP Wet Dry Vacuum performs just as you would expect. We removed the dry filter for this test and simulated a dishwasher water overflow onto a kitchen floor.
Suction for cleaning the spill was excellent. The built-in float operated just as it should stopping suction when the water level reached maximum capacity in the tank. The 2.5 gallon capacity meant we had to empty frequently but for small cleanups the small vac was adequate and the portability was a plus.
Features
The construction of this compact shop vacuum is done with a durable plastic that can handle dings and drops without breaking. It is lightweight with a decent length power cord.
The top comes off easily for cleaning the container and filter while the handle allows you to move this vacuum anywhere you need it. In conclusion if you are looking for a compact wet dry vac that is powerful, lightweight and dependable this is your best deal. We were very impressed with this product by Armor All.
